James Long (BCL) (T1978)

James Long qualified as a Solicitor in 1978 having secured a B.C.L. Degree from University College Cork and set up the practice which became known as Murphy & Long in 1987with his then partner Mr. Cornelius Murphy who is now a Circuit Court Judge. James has extensive expertise in Conveyancing and Probate work and has acquired extensive working knowledge of the Irish Co-Operative movement and deals with all matters relating to Agriculture, Commercial Property and Domestic Conveyancing as well as Probate and Taxation.

Plunkett Taaffe (BCL NUI) (H1980)

Plunkett Taaffe has extensive knowledge in Litigation both Criminal and Civil and has represented both Plaintiff’s and Defendants at all levels of the courts in Ireland being the District Court, Circuit Court, High Court and Supreme Court as well as Employment Appeal Tribunals and in Arbitration matters.

Shane O’Brien (BCL BEd MA) (M 1994)

Shane qualified as a solicitor in 1994, having served his apprenticeship in East Cork. He then worked for 15 years in Ennis, County Clare, rising to become the Litigation Partner in a well-known firm in 2003. Whilst with that firm Shane regularly attended the District, Circuit and High Courts in relation to personal injury, commercial and matrimonial matters. In addition, Shane has extensive experience in Conveyancing and Probate matters. He has a particular interest in the educational sector having worked in that area for a number of years. Shane is a keen cyclist, having cycled the length of Ireland on two occasions for charity, and enjoys sea swimming.
